Removing Spilt Shampoo From The Carpet

Things Needed For Removal Of Spilt Shampoo:
- Dustpan
- Paper towels
- Salt
- Spoon and bowl
- Spray bottle
- Water
- Wet/dry vacuum/carpet cleaners
Directions:
- Start by removing as much of it as possible before adding water to the location. Use a bowl, spoon, or dustpan to scrape the shampoo off the surface.
- Apply pressure when rubbing to eliminate as much shampoo as possible.
- After that, use a paper towel to blot the area. Soak up much of the remainder of the shampoo.
- Using fresh paper towels, blot until they no longer absorb moisture.
- Small amounts of soap/shampoo should be left on the carpet.
- Work with a wet/dry vacuum to suction out any remaining shampoo that could have soaked further down the carpet.
- Spray the area with a light coat of water.
- Use the wet/dry vacuum to pull the water and remaining shampoo from the carpet.
- Proceed until no more shampoo is left.
- A few suds are okay, but sprinkle them with salt if they become overwhelming. The salt does away with the soap foam.
- As soon as all shampoos are removed, blot the area using dry paper towels to remove any remaining moisture.
- Allow for the area to air dry.
Guidelines:
- Removing as much of it as possible is significant before adding water. The water will activate the soap and start to form suds.
- If no wet/dry vacuum is available, blot the area using paper towels instead. You may want to rent a carpet shampooer and run it over.
