Follow these three simple steps for ink stain removal:

  1. Fresh water-soluble ink stains may respond to washing out with a dishwashing solution. (1 teaspoon: 1 ltr of warm water)
  2. Fill a bowl with warm water.
  3. Add a teaspoon of laundry detergent.
  4. Dab the stained area with the solution until the stain surrenders
  5. If not responding, apply methylated spirits to the affected area.
  6. Blot dry with a colourfast towel and repeat while effective.
  7. You can try eucalyptus oil or dry cleaning fluid as well. Different inks respond to various cleaning agents.

Steps To Remove The Oil Ink Stain From The Natural Carpet Fibre

  1. Buy two cans of cheap lacquer hair spray or methylated spirit – you may need this much, depending on how quickly the stain disappears.
  2. Spray the hairspray onto the ink stain.
  3. Using a white cloth towel, blot the lacquer. Do not scrub the stain; repeat this until the ink stain disappears.
  4. Once the area is dry, hand-brush the affected area and vacuum.

  • Hairspray is capable of removing ink stains. The more affordable brands work better because they contain more alcohol, the ingredient that transfers the ink.
