How To Remove Carpet Red Wine Stain?

red wine stain removalWe’ve all experienced scary moments when a red wine glass topples over the table and spills onto the carpet. It’s one of those stains that knows how to leave its mark. And unless you know about carpet red wine stain removal, that stain may be sticking around a little too long. Carpet and red wine might seem like the beginning of a household nightmare, but it needn’t be. Indeed, we will show you how to remove red wine from the carpet in these simple steps.

On the other hand, the crucial element in red wine stain removal from a carpet is immediately tackling the job. Suppose the colour remains on the carpet for longer than a few moments. In that case, it can become a permanent one that only a professional carpet cleaning service can undo. Therefore, protect your investment in your home by cleaning red wine spills out of a carpet the instant they happen.

Things Needed To Clean Red Wine Stain

  • Clear laundry detergent
  • Small container or spray bottle
  • Vacuum
  • White rag or towel

DIY Carpet Wine Stain Removal

  1. Blot the Stain Immediately. Use a clean white cloth to blot up as much red wine as possible—alternate parts of the towel to always blot using a new spot.

  2. Combine warm water with three or four drops of clear laundry detergent. Do not use hot water on a wine spill to clean it up because doing so will make the stain permanent by setting it. Pour the soapy mixture onto the stain until it’s covered. Blot the area with a dry white towel or rag until it fades. Try and blot as much of the red wine stain as you can. The more you can soak up, the less you’ll have to remove.

  3. Add Water to the Stained Area. In addition, pour a small amount of cold water onto the red wine stains on the rug and then continue blotting. Indeed, the water dilutes the red wine, making it more comfortable to blot. Do not pour too much water at a time; switch out the blotting cloth for a dry one as you work.

  4. After blotting, pour some cold water directly onto the wine stain. Doing this helps dilute what remains of the colour, making blotting easier. Continue blotting until you find no more paint will come out.

  5. Make a Baking Soda Paste. Mix a paste with a three-to-one ratio of baking soda to water. After that, spread the paste instantly on the carpet stains. And wait for it to dry thoroughly before vacuuming the dried paste. Now, prepare a baking soda paste by mixing a three-to-one water ratio to baking soda and applying it to the affected area. Once the paste is dry, vacuum the stain.

Take Note:

Apply Carpet Stain Remover. However, if any stain remains, apply a carpet stain remover according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically, the process is to wait until the cleaning product dries and then vacuum.

Allow the water to sink into the stain for a minute or two. After that, rinse the red wine spot carefully with warm water from the sink and blot the colour.

Perform steps 1, 2, and 3 again. Repeat the washing, blotting, and rinsing procedures until you remove the stain. Allow the affected area of the rug to dry overnight.

Vacuum the rug to take out any dirt and dust that accumulated there.

  • Under no circumstances should you use hot water on a stain.
